Primafuel

Primafuel is a California-based technology company that operates in two main
areas: biofuels infrastructure project development and second-generation biofuels technology development.

The Company has secured approvals for multiple sites to host large scale biodiesel production and storage facilities in Northern California. All sites have excellent rail, truck, and deep-water marine access. After the completion of second phase construction in 2010-2011 in all its locations, Primafuel will have the total production capacity of over 100 million gallons per annum and storage capacity of over 140 million gallons.

Primafuel has also developed multiple complimentary technology platforms designed to improve profitability and sustainability of first and second generation biofuels. First systems have been commercialized and a significant sales pipeline is established. Primafuel’s R&D teams have also built a valuable intellectual property portfolio with multiple patents granted and in process. Primafuel’s biorefinery platforms are focused on three specific areas: separation, purification and conversion. Each of these platforms has proven applications in first and next-generation biofuels. For its technology innovation and leadership in zero-carbon fuel space Primafuel has recently been awarded the Technology Pioneer of the Year Award at World Economic Forum (Davos, Switzerland).

I2BF has participated in Primafuel’s Series A financing during Summer 2006 and then extended a further bridge round in February 2008.
